Here is how it works. Aunt Dot’s Place applied for and received a grant from Vermonters Feeding Vermonters. We received money which is earmarked to purchase fruits and vegetables from a Vermont grower. A volunteer went weekly to Mazza’s to pick up produce there and bring it to Aunt Dot’s for our clients.
The result is improved nutrition for our clients, support for a local farmer, a stronger Vermont economy by supporting agriculture in Vermont, and a reduced environmental impact due to purchasing locally. That is what I call a Win-Win.
