Dear Wonderful Volunteers,
As usual, there is lots happening at Aunt Dot’s Place. At the Board meeting, the board approved an increase in property insurance to cover property/ equipment and food spoilage costs, and we approved our 990 form. Also, some board members participated in “Nonpofits and Immigration Enforcement” training this week.
We also have some important food drives coming up. We have the Post Office Food Drive on May 9th, the June 14th Big Beautiful Life event, and the Matt Lumsden Realty Memorial Day Food Drive. We will, of course, need volunteers for all these events. Please email Kaki if you can help or if you are interested in walking in the Memorial Day Parade to represent Aunt Dot’s Place.
Our Milk Matters Campaign has raised $5,924.00 so far, which is 53% of our goal. You can help by forwarding our Facebook post or by donating. Or mention our campaign to raise $11,000.00 to pay for the cost of milk for one year to your friends or family. Be sure to tell them that every dollar they give goes directly to pay for milk.
Fran Kinghorn is looking for a volunteer to deliver groceries on the 3rd Friday of every month to seniors living in the Whitcombe Woods/ Whitman Terrace neighborhood in Essex Junction. If interested, please email Fran at fran.kinghorn@gmail.com.
Also, our Aunt Dot’s Place Delivery program has an immediate need for volunteers to deliver food. Three members of our team are experiencing medical issues, which require them to take a break from their delivery commitments. Fortunately, Suzie Lawrence, one of our new board members, has just joined the team. Yet more volunteers are needed. We seem to get more requests each week. Email me at sue@auntdotsplace.com.
In other news, our office is getting painted this Saturday after the Saturday shift by some wonderful volunteers from UVM.
