Courage

by Sue Miyamoto

I woke up today thinking about courage. A long time ago, I read that the “white belt”, the beginner’s belt in martial arts, could be thought of as a symbol of courage because it takes courage to start something new, to be a beginner, to risk criticism or failure.

It also takes courage to admit your need and to ask for help when you need it.

If you are food insecure, trying to stretch every dollar, yet struggling financially, please come to Aunt Dot’s Place. You will not be shamed or judged. You will be welcomed warmly.

All you need to do is bring something to establish that you are a resident of Essex, Essex Junction, Westford, Jericho, or Underhill. You don’t have to fill out financial forms. Registration is quick and easy.

We are located at 51 Center Road, in Essex, in the back of the building, and we are open Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. We are here for you.
