May 2026 Letter to Volunteers

Dear Amazing Volunteers,

Visits at Aunt Dot’s Place are at a record high, but due to all your hard work, we are meeting the need! We do have a pressing need for more shift leaders. If you can help with this, contact Kaki at info@auntdotsplace.com immediately. Training will be provided for this important role.

We just had the Post Office food drive on May 9th, and this weekend,  we will have the Matt Lumsden Memorial Day Parade food drive, which is usually a big one. These food drives really make a difference for us. Coming up is the Big Beautiful Life 5K, on June 14th, that we will attend and help with. It’s a good outreach event, and we get all the leftover bananas and granola bars that they provide to the runners.

Our Milk Matters fundraiser has raised $9,475, which is 86% of our $11,000 goal. Our goal is the estimated amount that we will spend on milk in one year.  If you are able to give to this important cause, go to auntdotsplace.com or send a check to Aunt Dot’s Place, P.O. Box 8216, Essex, Vermont 05452

We just received a Catalyst Cophort grant of $20,000 from the Vermont Food Bank. Kaki works hard to secure these grants for us. Also, the Board voted to purchase some diapers monthly to supplement what we get through donations. I just signed up a new client today, bringing our delivery program up to 15 families receiving deliveries now.
