August 2025 Letter to Volunteers

Dear Friends,

As we move forward in August, our number of client visits continues to be high, but fortunately produce donations have been high with summer’s bounty.  We’ve had some difficulty filling all our volunteer slots this month. Thanks to all the individuals who stepped up this month to keep our organization running.

On a Thursday morning shift this month, I loved seeing a young boy run up and hug one of our volunteers. We fill more than plates, we fill hearts. Thank you to all our volunteers, those who have volunteered for years and those who were trained just this month. You are needed and appreciated. Thank you to our director Kaki McGeary who has worked extra hard, on our strategic plan. The board has been working hard on the strategic plan too, with the task of creating a draft implementation plan by August 29th.

Kaki, Frank White, Carol Poole, and Steve Miyamoto are working to learn our new Pantry Soft software. This software will be used to better manage our operation from inventory to client intake.

Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity to do from home? We need someone who can work two to three hours a month from home as a Saturday Store Pick-Up Coordinator. You will need to be computer literate for this position. Contact Kaki at kaki@auntdotsplace.com if you are interested in this opportunity.
