Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Hunger

January 15, 2018 |Sue Miyamoto

As we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, I am inspired by this quote from him –

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“I have the audacity to believe that people everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education, and culture for their minds and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits.” It felt great today to deliver fifty pounds of onions, 50 pounds of carrots, a bushel of apples, feminine products, and snacks to Aunt Dot’s Place today. I was also thrilled to see a donation of cereal, peanut butter, soups and warm scarves from Grace United Methodist Church. Whether it is Dr. King’s Day of Service or any day, donations can help make his dream come true, right here in Essex. As King said “The time is always right to do the right thing.”
