Dear Volunteers,
We’ve had an exciting year at Aunt Dot’s Place. Our Executive Director, Kaki McGeary shared at our annual meeting, on January 15th, that donations are up 12 percent, grant revenue has doubled this year, and we registered 85 new volunteers. Our building was sold, and, as you know, we got to stay!
Our other exciting news is that we have three new board members! Amy Boudreaux is back as a board member. Amy has been involved in ADP since 2019 and has served as a board member, board secretary, and Administrative Coordinator. She comes back with new expertise from her current job at the Vermont Foodbank. Amy was elected to the position of Secretary for the board.
Another new board member is Alice Astarita. She is an active community leader and retired financial consultant who has focused her consultancy on financial services for non-profits. She has served on many boards such as Committee on Temporary Shelter and Women Helping Women. The board elected her our new Treasurer, with Anna Cadmus continuing as our Assistant Treasurer.
Paul Macuga is our third new board member. He is a retired Human Resources executive who worked for thirteen years as the Chief Human Resources Officer for UVM Health Network. He has served on several non-profit boards such as United Way of Chittenden County and Hunger Free Vermont. Paul has volunteered to be on the Strategic Planning Committee.
The three board members who left the board, Tara Amato, Julie Palmieri-Anderson, and Frank White, are staying involved with the work of ADP. We are extremely grateful for their contribution as board members and for their continued involvement. I am continuing as Board President and Richard Hoskings was voted in as Vice President.
Other good news is that we received a $75,000 grant from the Hoelh Family Foundation, a grant which is earmarked for food and food distribution. Also, we voted to go back to allowing clients to come three times per month, starting in February.
Heartfelt thanks to all of you, from brand-new volunteers to ADP volunteers who have been with us since the beginning. You are the ones who make it all happen. We appreciate each one of you, and our neighbors who come as clients, appreciate you.
