A Truck Load of Food

Truck Load of Food

Matt Lumsden and Erica Sherrod and a friend arrived with a truck load of food for Aunt Dot’s Place yesterday at 5:00 pm.  Volunteers, including two brothers, jumped into action weighing, sorting, and labeling the food.

Matt and Erika stood outside Shaw’s in Williston, and asked people to buy something to give for the food shelf. They told us how overwhelmed they were with the generous response of so many people.  One lady cried when she gave them the food for Aunt Dot’s Place, explaining that “last year I had to go to a food shelf, and now I can give back.”

They brought 1,326 pounds of food, lots of cat and dog food, and $200.00 in checks!

This is not the first time that Matt Lumsden Real Estate of Essex Junction has helped Aunt Dot’s Place, and we are very thankful for their passion to help the community.  We were also very thankful for the help of these two brothers, who worked for hours sorting and labeling food. Their Mom weighed all the food, so she is definitely leading by her example.
