Get Connected

November 20, 2019 | by Sue Miyamoto

Brene Brown explained that “connection” is the “energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued.” Oftentimes poverty is lonely. You lack resources and connections that others have. You don’t fit into conversations about fancy vacations and new cars. There is isolation and for some people a sense of shame.

When our clients come to Aunt Dot’s Place, they get food, but they also get connection. They are greeted kindly and without judgment.  The volunteers are seen and appreciated too, by clients and by other volunteers.

Come to our open house on Dec.  4th at 4:00 pm.  Come and get connected to your community in a very special way.
